You can also take part in our New World Record Attempt where we have been given approval by Guinness World Records™ to set a New World Record for the largest amount of money raised for a charitable cause in coins. We are now in planning stages to create what is going to be called…
“The Everest £1 COINTUBE Mountain World Record Attempt – The Largest Coin Mountain in The World” where we hope to raise over £200,000 in £1 coins.
The current record which was set in 1998 in Portugal stands at 44,395,727.96 Portuguese escudos (£152,217 1998 exchange rate) and was donated to UNICEF.
We are going to collect the £1 coins by small plastic tubes which will take up to £30, that will be sent to Businesses, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Clubs as well as getting the general public involved in this record attempt. As we receive the tubes back with £1 coins inside, we will then use the tubes to build The £1 Coin Tube Mountain in a public place.
